**Community Co Producer**:
Job description

Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Join our dynamic and vibrant Arts and Museums Service to play a key role in engaging diverse audiences with the museum collection, using co-production and outreach methods.

As a service we manage a number of museums and heritage sites across the city, including Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, the King Richard III Visitor Centre, Leicester Guildhall, Abbey Pumping Station, Newarke Houses Museum, and Belgrave Hall.

These are full-time, permanent posts each working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. You’ll have flexibility in hybrid working, being both office based at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, and able to work remotely from home. In addition, you’ll be required to travel across the city to engage with communities in their neighbourhoods, and to attend meetings with colleagues and partners.

**What you’ll be doing**

Working in the Engagement Team, you’ll be passionate about involving people from all backgrounds and abilities with museum collections. You’ll work with staff across the Service, especially those in Collections, to create and deliver a range of community engagement projects and initiatives in both community venues and museums. This will include, but not be limited to, co-curated exhibitions, co-produced community celebrations, object handling, contemporary collecting initiatives, and museum projects that contribute to people’s health and wellbeing.

**What you’ll need**

You’ll have experience of engaging and working with a wide range of communities in collaborative projects, including activities that encourage participation and dialogue with museum collections. You’ll have a strong understanding of how to engage with the public, and experience of producing accessible content for high-quality exhibitions using objects from a museum collection or loan items. Your creativity will showcase in your development of new initiatives, you’ll have the ability to problem-solve, and enjoy inspiring others. As an excellent communicator, you’ll delight in working with a wide range of stakeholders, including community groups, visitors and non-visitors, volunteers, and people from all different backgrounds. In addition, you’ll have good attention to detail and accuracy, good interpretive skills, and the ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines.

**What we can offer you**

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including discounts on city buses and trains.
