The Role

Would you like to gain experience running experiments with novel biomedical technology?

Key Accountabilities
Contribute to the planning, organisation and running of a clinical trial involving participants with upper-limb difference
Run experiments to validate the effectiveness of the prototype intervention, involving both limb intact and limb different participants Collaborate with clinical colleagues to analyse the resultant experimental data Contribute to the writing up and publication of experimental results

The Person Comfortable independently running complex experiments to fixed deadlines Eager to work in an interdisciplinary team Excellent written and oral presentation skills Team player able to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge of applied upper-limb prosthetics
Knowledge of experimental design, experimental procedures and ethics for working with humans
Experience writing research reports and presenting research results
Desirable
Experience working with people with upper-limb difference
Knowledge of myoelectric sensor technology and myoelectric control
Knowledge of current clinical standards in upper-limb prosthetics
Knowledge of clinical socket design and use of clinical standard electrodes for myoelectric control

Attributes and Behaviour
Self-directed with ability to work to own initiative in setting deadlines and objectives
Comfortable working with a diverse stakeholder group including prosthesis users, clinical partners, industrial partners and academic colleagues
Ability to communicate work clearly and appropriately to a range of stakeholders and audiences

**Qualifications**:
An MSc in a biomedical engineering or a closely related field or equivalent experience
