Non-Site Specific Cancer Patient Navigator, Band 5, up to 37.5 hours fixed term for 2 years.
We are launching a brand new service at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, to support cancer patients and early diagnosis.

This role reports directly to the Non-Site Specific Cancer Advanced Clinical Practitioner to support patients with vague symptoms or non-site specific symptoms that have suspected cancer, in support of the national Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) Framework. The serious non-site specific service will offer a single point of access to a diagnostic pathway for all patients with symptoms that could indicate cancer and a personalised, accurate and rapid diagnosis of patients’ symptoms by integrating existing diagnostic provision and utilising networked clinical expertise and information locally.
The post holder will be an identified and consistent point of contact for people with non-specific but concerning symptoms which may lead to a diagnosis of cancer and their families and carers, and will carry a defined caseload to provide structured pre diagnostic support and co-ordination of needs, under the direction of Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
The Non-Site Specific Cancer Patient Navigator post holder has a role in contributing to and ensuring the delivery of high quality services for our patients. The post holder will work closely with the service ACP and will pro-actively foster an enabling culture and professional behaviours with integration North Cumbria to support effective patient pathways and high quality care. **Standard Check**: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
**Enhanced Check**: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
