**Summer Placement - Test & Validation (Oxford)**
YASA manufactures a range of electric motors based on our unique motor topology at our factory and Company Headquarters in Oxfordshire. YASA was founded on the principle that small, light electric motors will play a growing role in meeting both the strict emissions targets being set globally in a wide range of industries and the requirement for greater efficiency through electrification.
YASA is an Oxford Uni spin-out and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz, we are dedicated to driving innovation in the field of axial flux electric motors. We can deliver a significantly smaller and lighter electric motor than any other competing technology. The innovation team drives forward development in motor performance. We have broad roles that cover a range of fast-paced projects.
**YASA Internship Programme**
**Responsibilities may include**:
- Executing test plans to prove functionality/performance/durability.
- Liaising with external test houses for delivery of tests, including reporting and maintaining to agreed schedules.
- Developing and writing test cases, utilising new and standard test methods to satisfy project requirements.
- Working with Test Technicians during test setup and operation
- Assist with the preparation of test rigs and equipment.
- Carrying out data analysis and drawing conclusions from test data to produce engineering test reports.
**Requirements**:
- Previous exposure working with mechanical and/or electrical handheld tooling and equipment.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field. Ideally in your penultimate year of study.
- An interest in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Good initiative, with the ability to manage own time and priorities.
