In the Cabinet Office People and Places division, we partner with the people who run Government and deliver on the most challenging agenda. Ensuring our workforce has an effective payroll delivery service is critical to good employee experience, and the People Business Services Team (PBST) are at the heart of this activity. We deliver and support all 10,000+ employees, including the SCS and Ministers, with payroll transactions, enquiries and onboarding working closely with our shared services provider. We also want to develop the Cabinet Office’s ambition to improve overall customer experience through interactions with payroll services, systems and departmental guidance.

**Job description**:
You will be responsible for leading improvements in the below key areas
- HR Intranet pages: completing a content review and refresh so that processes and procedures are accurate, easy to access and straightforward to follow.
- Engagement with HR processes: developing an effective approach and channels for employees to have an awareness of HR processes and know where to find information/support when needed.
- Third party suppliers: strengthening contract management and delivery, to improve the standard of contract management across COHR, ensure effective service delivery and value for money.

You will:

- Gain a thorough understanding of current HR processes and practices to have an awareness of areas for improvement.
- Build collaborative working relationships with HR colleagues and wider department stakeholders to successfully develop and implement business change.
- Undertake initial research into issues and challenges associated with each of the three priority areas.
- Identify and propose improvements based on gathered feedback and evidence from HR colleagues and the wider department.
- Work with third party providers to ascertain further process improvements and streamlining any current complex practices.
- Ensure that new processes align to HR global design principles.
- Lead required user engagement and testing of changes to get stakeholder feedback.
- Deliver key pieces of work required in any areas of the projects to deliver improvements, particularly in specific HR areas
- Build and develop best practice principles associated with any identified improvements.
- Track and measure implementation of improved processes, accounting for progress, delivery and any associated risks.
- Produce ongoing communications to update colleagues and wider organisations on progress and promote improvements.
- Adopt project management approach to manage work e.g. creating a project plan, log of issues etc.
- Play an active role in project meetings, through facilitation, logistics and updating of project related documents.
