**JOB DETAILS Job Title**: NPIC Project Co-ordinator Reports to: NPIC Manager Band: 5 Unit/Department: Research & Innovation Location NPIC St Jamess University Hospital AfC Job No: 3592a 2. JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY The jobholder will be responsible for providing research delivery and administrative support to the NPIC Research team to ensure the NPIC meets its contractual obligations.. They will have a clear understanding of NHS R&I arrangements and will work as part of the NPIC R&I and Scanning team to support, promote and facilitate the delivery or Research related projects. They will provide support in developing industry collaborations and managing the R&I activity in this area.

S/he will be expected to lead projects, represent the department and deputise for the NPIC manager(s) where appropriate. The National Pathology Imaging Co-operative is a £37m programme funded by the UK Industry Strategy Challenge Fund to accelerate the development of opportunities in Digital Pathology and Artificial Intelligence. The jobholder will have: Supervisory & line management responsibility for the NPIC administration team.

Day to day responsibility for the management of the research set-up process and hands-on delivery of bespoke projects. Responsibility for budgetary resources associated with the delivery of individual departmental projects. To work with research and Scanning teams to support the feasibility and set up of NPIC sponsored studies within the NPIC centre. To manage the early engagement with NPIC by tracking expression of interests for trials and confidentiality agreements and processes to support research activites.

Be involved in ensuring correct contracts are in place for projects, using standard contract templates, liaising with LTHT contracting team if appropriate. Supporting scanning facility workflows when required and once receiving training 3. ORGANISATIONAL CHART 4. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The duties are to support the delivery of NPIC research and innovation in digital pathology and related areas as follows: Manage on a day to day basis the current confirmation arrangements for research and act as a support for the NPIC research teams and partners in navigating this process and escalating difficult cases where necessary.

Contribute to the development and improvement of the current confirmation process liaising with information manager as necessary. Industry Funded Research Liaise with Clinical Research Associates and/or legal representatives of national and international commercial companies to negotiate contract arrangements for planned research studies, under the direction of the NPIC Manager. This involves complex contract negotiations. Ensure that the appropriate indemnity and financial arrangements are in place for all commercial studies being undertaken, following up projects as required and ensuring full documentation is held for each project.

Monitor and log the expressions of interest and feasibility submissions for industry sponsored research or Scanning service work. Produce reports and updates for Industry Partners on Trust performance. Line management of the NPIC Administrators Supervise workload and work practices Manage absence Ensure training needs are met Carry out appraisal/objective setting sessions on an annual basis Log all training undertaken by staff within the R&I Department Information Management Support the Information Manager in undertaking data integrity exercises. Contribute to the preparation of quarterly research performance metric returns.

Disseminate information on NPIC research governance policies and procedures and the services offered by the department through regular presentations, workshops and seminars to NPIC researchers and research co-ordinators. General Develop a working knowledge of the main departmental projects and provide support and cover for other members of the team as appropriate. Support the managers in general office duties, for example, organising the monthly team briefing, collating absence information, co-ordinating staff annual and flexi leave. Deal with general departmental queries and problems, referring to NPIC manager(s) where appropriate.
