The Case Investigator will be an autonomous and independent expert investigator who will be able to work both independently and as part of an investigation team and/or panel. They will need to be able to understand and interpret HR policies and best practice in order to make informed, risk-based recommendations and decisions. The Case Investigator will undertake investigations for all matters relating to clinical and non-clinical employees such as disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment and whistleblowing plus any other matters which may involve an investigation. They will ensure that all aspects of the investigation are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.

They will receive and analyse information often of a highly confidential and sometimes distressing nature, and be expected to attend Disciplinary and/or Appeal Hearings to present cases to a panel with the support from an HR professional. They will also be required to review cases of other investigators as part of the appeals process and chair grievance panels
