**Who we are**
Chance & Counters is a group of five board game cafe-bars, headquartered in Bristol but with sites in Cardiff, Birmingham, and Leeds. We have approximately 100 staff, the vast majority of whom are part-time. We are extremely proud of our high staff retention rate and staff satisfaction levels.
**Job description**
We are looking for a part-time HR administrator to assist the Head of HR with day-to-day administrative responsibilities, as well as developing the company HR systems and policies.
**Working schedule**:
- Part time, 3 days a week (22.5 hours total excluding breaks)
- Hybrid work routine based on demands of business. We expect the majority of the job to be home-based.
- Work travel will be expensed in line with company policies
**Salary**: £18,000 per annum (£30,000 full-time equivalent)
**Requirements**:
- CIPD level 3 or higher
- Generalist HR experience and knowledge with at least 3 years experience
- Excellent administration and communication skills
- PC literacy (Microsoft office, google drive, HR software)
- Must reside in or within easy travel distance of Bristol or Birmingham.
**Desirable**:
- Experience of HR in a hospitality, leisure, or retail setting
**Key responsibilities**:
We expect the key responsibilities to be the following:
- Onboard new staff and offboard leavers
- Maintain staff records in accordance with company requirements
- Advise venue managers regarding minor conduct or performance issues
- Advise and assist venue managers with performance reviews (probationary and annual)
- Advise and assist venue managers regarding staff personal improvement plans
- Assist the Finance Director with the monthly payroll
- Plan and carry out investigations into staff conduct issues
- Assist the Head of HR with disciplinary action
- Assist the Head of HR with draft changes to company policies/handbooks and communicate these with staff as required
- Maintain company employee assistance programme and health insurance scheme
- Respond to general staff HR queries
- Assist with the conducting of a yearly staff and management satisfaction survey
The Head of HR will provide training, oversight, and assistance with all of the above.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £18,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 22.5 per week
