**Position: Front of House Assistant, The Bothy Coffee Shop, York**

**We are looking for a Front of House Assistant, with kitchen experience, to share their passion for the hospitality industry and will thrive in a busy, vibrant and friendly environment, to join our team within our well-established Coffee Shop.**

**Dean’s Garden Centre is a family run business, serving local gardeners for over 50 years, with our York store opening in 1968 and our Scarborough store opening in 1986. We are proud of being a local family firm with strong roots in the local community.**

**Our Coffee Shop offers a delicious selection of homecooked meals and snacks. We serve everything from The Bothy Breakfast to Afternoon Tea and fabulous home baking of scones and cakes, to a huge range of daily specials. We offer spacious seating areas both inside and outside, allowing our customers to relax and enjoy the light and airy environment we have on offer.**

- We are Dean’s Garden Centre, Stockton-on-the-Forest, approximately 2 ½ miles east of York.
- We have a fabulous, thriving 170 seat, architect designed Coffee Shop, plus additional seating for 80 in our wonderful outdoor area.
- At interview there will be the opportunity to find out more about us and visit the Coffee Shop.

**About the Role ?**
- First and foremost, you will be part of a supportive, hardworking team.
- Maintain a high standard of personal and food hygiene and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Liaise with the Coffee Shop Manager and Front of House Supervisors.
- Welcoming our customers into our Coffee Shop.
- Advising and making recommendations regarding food and drinks choices and be aware of allergen information.
- Assist in the preparation of hot drinks, meeting the required standards.
- Take orders and use the till, handling cash and card transactions using an EPOS till system.
- Organising cakes & scones for orders.
- Delivering food and drinks to customers tables in our busy Coffee Shop.
- Clearing and cleaning tables.
- Replenishing fridge cabinets.
- Provide a friendly and efficient service to all our customers.
- Ensure the Coffee Shop is kept clean at all times.
- Handling customer enquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure customers are presented with their meal to a high standard and on time.
- Developing your knowledge of dietary requirements and health & hygiene.

**Ideally you will**
- Have relevant food safety qualifications.
- Have hospitality experience.
- Have Coffee Machine experience.
- Have kitchen experience.
