**Job Purpose**
The primary purpose of the Student Engagement Coordinator is to enhance the student experience of Dumfries-based students at the University of Glasgow. The role will require the Student Engagement Coordinator to work closely with the Dumfries-based students (including the Student Representatives), to develop, lead and evaluate new initiatives to improve the student experience. The post-holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring the ‘student voice’ is represented effectively throughout the School’s activities. The role will include collecting student feedback using a variety of means which will be used to promote and celebrate successes, and to identify areas requiring improvement - this will require working with key stakeholders internally across the University and externally with relevant partner organisations. This is a collaborative role focused on strategic implementation of student engagement initiatives with a remit across all Student Experience functions.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
1. With support from the Student Experience Manager, develop and lead the delivery of an Advocacy and Campaigning strategy for the Dumfries student body.
2. Be the voice of the student community and lead on student engagement initiatives that address priority delivery gaps to increase student satisfaction. Work with the student communications intern to ensure that these are communicated appropriately with the student body.
3. Analyze qualitive and quantitative data from various sources (NSS, School QA data etc) and formulate action plans to improve student experience metrics.
4. Actively identify and contribute to improvements in student service provision.
5. Guided by the Student Experience Manager, regularly present to committees and leadership groups in the School and University, including the Student Experience Committee, Staff Student Liaison Committee and the School Executive on student engagement and student service delivery.
6. Review information provided to students and ensure it is appropriate, engaging, and relevant. This includes student handbooks, web pages, blogs, newsletters etc.
7. Co-ordinate, plan and promote elements of the student events calendar including induction week.
8. Represent the School at a range of university meetings to represent student engagement, student experience, and general student support.
9. Ensure that the interests of the School’s students are understood and represented effectively by the SRC through engagement with the SRC Council.
10. Support the school in the establishment of its enhanced Student Union model, working with the SRC and student body to ensure that the revised model meets the demands of the campus community.
11. Any other duties that emerge as part of the student experience agenda within the school.

A1 HND, VQ3/4, Highers or equivalent
A2 Understanding or experience of student representation and advocacy

B1 Current knowledge and understanding of UK HE landscape and of University of Glasgow

C4 High level of competency in IT skills including advanced skills in the use of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint

C7 Ability to organise own workload
C8 Ability to adhere to timescales and produce information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form
C9 Strong organisational skills with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
C10 Ability to work proactively as part of a team as well as demonstrate a high level of initiative

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for up to 2 years in the first instance.
