**Main Purpose**: To assist in the operation of our Keswick café including the preparation and service of beverages, snacks, food. To take and process customers’ orders and to maintain the upkeep of hygiene standards. To work alongside team members with a Learning Disabilities

**Responsible to**: Manager

**Salary: £10.50- £10.90** per hour

**Hours**: Various hours available

**Kitchen Assistant MAIN DUTIES**

1. To undertake general preparation of food. This may include task such as; peeling and chopping vegetables; preparing salads and sandwiches etc.

2. To assist in the preparation of meals under the supervision of the Chef or other

supervisory staff.

3. To understand and adhere to all food hygiene and health and safety requirements in

order to meet regulatory and West House standards.

4. To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene. To ensure that a clean uniform is worn

at all times.

5. To undertake general cleaning duties as required throughout the cafe, including within the kitchen and external areas.

6. Setting and clearing of tables in the cafe as required,

7. Serve meals to customers if and when it is needed.

8. To operate as a member of the staff team, contributing positively and actively to the

work of the team.

9. Ensure the highest quality of service provision at all times.

10. Using the till and handling cash.

11. Ordering stock, and stock control.

12. Communication skills and problem solving.

13. Demonstrate loyalty and respect to West House and colleagues by promoting a positive image of West House.

14. To take part in the annual performance review (Appraisal).

15. To attend staff meetings and training as required

16. To work in a safe manner at all times and behave in such a way that the health and

safety of work colleagues is not adversely affected.

17. To undertake any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the post as and when required.

**Job Type**: Part-time
