**Role Overview**:
To be the integral link between Product, Content and the Press department so that the press office receives regular sample replenishment comprising the best edits from all divisions (women’s, men’s and kidswear). To work closely with the Fashion team to improve key product knowledge so that effective PR tools (mailers, product imagery) can be built to generate strong levels of coverage. To pitch news stories to media and manage product seeding programmes across press, influencers and VIPs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Day-to-day contact with global fashion and consumer press, hosting regular showroom appointments and handling all press enquiries quickly and effectively
- Establish and strengthen close relationships with all relevant publications, digital communities, VIP and influencer agencies as well as directly with tastemakers that span all sectors (fashion, travel, music etc.).
- Develop close working relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders including the product teams (Buying, Design and Fashion), Content + Editorial, Marketing and Digital) in order to retrieve and build PR assets
- Work with the Product teams to ensure press samples are ordered and delivered on time throughout the year
- Manage PR shots; house keep regularly so key imagery is housed and old product removed
- Support the Senior Press + Influencer Executive in the creation and distribution of press mailers, writing copy for press releases and spokesperson responses
- Pitch and place seasonal River Island campaign imagery and news stories
- Assist the wider team in the organisation and execution of press events
- Support the wider team in the management of the River Island community, ensuring talent are always on brand and culturally relevant
- Manage and fulfil press and VIP seeding and dressing requests
- Monitor global social and event sightings involving talent and share with media as well as Content and Social teams for content regeneration purposes (and communicate successes to the business)

- Devise coverage and event reports
- Ensure the showroom is always tidy and merchandised, ready for stylist and gifting appointment
- Oversee the junior team with sample trafficking (sample call ins and returns), ensuring processes run smoothly
- Raise department invoices and manage budget tracker
- Day-to-day management of the Junior Press and Influencer Assistant
**What you’ll bring to the role**:
- Proven PR background, ideally within fashion/retailing
- Passion for the River Island brand
- A strong understanding of the media landscape
- Strong writing and communication skills
- The ability to stay positive under pressure and stay focused on goals
- The ability to forge strong relationships with key business areas
- The ability to contribute fresh and innovative ideas
- Self-motivation and ability to proactively seek PR opportunities
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Mentorship skills to develop and guide the junior team
