Our client is a young man in his 30's who has learning difficulties & autism. His parents currently help care for him and we have started this care package full time. The hours are 0900-1600, Monday to Friday currently but this may increase to include weekends. As their son becomes more familiar with the care team, the package will develop. As he gets used to the team, the role will become more involved:
The main duties include:

- **Personal care**: assist with personal hygiene, washing assistance with using the toilet.
- **Support with eating and drinking**: ensuring that clients are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet and the correct quantities, prepared meals look appetising and make sure the way they eat is appropriate for the client
- **Daily activities**:taking the client out to various daily activities and different places.
- **Domestic duties**: cleaning, emptying bins, washing where requested
- **Assist with medication**: completing the MAR chart (Medical Administration Record) the administration of medication as outlined in the care plan and with customer consent
- **Promote independence**: to allow the client to do as much as they can for themselves and only offer support where they need it
- **Safeguarding**: protect the client from significant harm, abuse or neglect. It is important that all carers follow the company “whistleblowing” policy to raise any concerns they may have about clients or fellow carers
- **Respect dignity**: always ensure that this critical aspect of care is maintained at all times
- **Bespoke personal care**: ensure care delivered is person centred
- **Give companionship**: Simply talking and listening to the client and understanding their like and dislikes and encourage stimulating activities
- **Promoting health**: infection prevention, understanding illnesses including dementia and supporting with emergency first aid where necessary
- **Communication**:always ensure respectful & compassionate communication with our clients.

Pay: £11.44-£12.44 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Day range:

- Monday to Friday

Shift:

- Day shift

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Home care: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)

**Location**:
