We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Peer Support Worker to join our team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Peer Support Worker, you will provide emotional support and guidance to carers and individuals experiencing mental distress, helping them to build resilience and coping strategies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • To work collaboratively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
  • To identify and address potential risks and barriers to recovery, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement interventions.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programs for staff, patients, and carers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by carers and individuals affected by mental health issues, and be able to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. A Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience, including lived experience of caring for someone with mental health issues, is essential for this role. We offer a competitive salary of £32,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
