We are offering this exciting, challenging and rewarding 12 month secondment.

You will work alongside and support the Lead Nurse for Reproductive Services. As well as work alongside the Matron for Gynaecology and Matron for Sexual Health, Genetics, and Fertility to provide a high quality service to all key stakeholders and users.

You will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to patients, carers and staff.

You will have particular responsibility to support the development of clinical governance, education, and service improvement within the 4 specialities of Reproductive Health (Gynaecology, Sexual Health, Fertility and Genetics).

You will provide specialist advice to the ward/departmental areas regarding legislation, guidance and the regulatory framework relevant to the management of clinical risk and to improving clinical standards and patient safety with a ‘can-do’ attitude with a drive to deliver results.

You will ensure robust, effective arrangements, systems and structures are in place to achieve high standards of quality and safety in service delivery. Working directly with other Matrons, Nursing and Medical Governance Leads, Divisional Nurse, PDM, Ward/clinic managers, specialist nursing teams and link with other Trust colleagues.

Main duties of the job

To lead on the identification of risks and quality improvement associated within specialities; develop and implement action plans, attend local/speciality and divisional meetings

To provide guidance and support in the implementation of clinical standards (quality) initiatives in line with the Trust’s clinical risk management and Health and safety framework.

To lead on the investigation and analysis of incidents associated or related to the speciality or its work streams, developing and implementing actions plans, providing feedback, quarterly reviews/reports as appropriate.

To support the implementation of clinical audit and other clinical effectiveness process such as dashboarding as a mechanism for improving quality, risk and safety.

Ensure each speciality_ _meets as a minimum, the National Standards of the Care Quality Commission. Ensure the Patient and Public Involvement feedback is integrated into service design and developments.

Ensure that systems are in place across the service area to identify the training and development needs of all non-medical staff and to provide an annual training and development plan which reflects workforce needs and meets service and professional requirements for life long learning
