UCLH one of the biggest centres in Europe to provide treatment of prostate cancer using focal methods including high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), cryotherapy, and photodynamic therapy. As a fellow on the team there is plenty of flexibility and opportunity to be involved with these treatments and to work with world leaders in focal therapy.

As a clinical fellow on the team you will be trained in interpretation of multiparametric MRI of the prostate as well as conducting independent targeted transperineal biopsy of the prostate. Clinics are weekly and you will have the opportunity to see patients throughout their journey with prostate cancer and be involved in diagnosis, active surveillance and offering treatment for prostate cancer. There are learning opportunities in a multi-disciplinary setting as we work closely with the radiology and histopathology departments in decision making. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your own interests as there are no on call or weekend commitments. Most of the cases conducted are day cases and only on rare occasions are there inpatients under our care.

Also, clinical fellows will gain experience in management of patients enrolled in different clinical trials and translational research. They are strongly encouraged to undertake research activities and lead to high quality publications in the field of prostate cancer. Those activities will be supported by three senior clinical academics consultant within the team.
