Payroll Coordinator

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced payroll professional to join our friendly and supportive HR and Payroll team. Hybrid working is available for this position.
You will be responsible for ensuring an accurate and timely monthly payroll. You will collate and verify a wide variety of monthly data for 4 payrolls, from across 18 sites, for c. 600 employees. You will process monthly starters, leavers, paid and unpaid absences and contractual changes; verifying any pro-rata calculations. You will import the data into the payroll system for it to be processed by our outsourced payroll company and then you will be responsible for checking and validating the data prior to authorising the pay-run. Following the payroll run each month you will produce various reports, including journals for accounts.
You will have experience in accurate and timely PAYE payroll preparation, processing and reconciliation, along with relevant statutory knowledge, such as statutory payments, Tax & NI calculations and legislative requirements. You will be the point of contact for employee queries and when necessary, you will calculate PAYE and NI contributions to provide a breakdown/explanation to them.
You will need to be self-motivated and a good communicator. You will pride yourself on your excellent attention to detail, professionalism and confidentiality.
It is expected that you will maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll processes and legislation. In addition, we offer the opportunity to gain payroll qualifications through an external provider.

**Salary**: £28,000 to £32,000
**Hours**: 40 - However consideration would be given to an alternative mutually agreeable arrangement
