**Job Title**: Locum Specialist Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
**Department**: Obstetrics and Gynaecology
**Reports to**: Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological care to patients, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
- Conduct outpatient clinics, including general gynaecology, antenatal, and postnatal clinics.
- Perform and assist in obstetric and gynaecological surgeries.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide 24/7 cover for the department.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including doctors in training.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits.
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field.
- Contribute to research and clinical governance activities within the department.
**Qualifications**:
- **Medical Degree**: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- **Postgraduate Qualification**: MRCOG (Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) or equivalent.
- **Higher Degree**: MD, PhD, or equivalent in a relevant field is desirable.
- **Registration**: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- **Experience**: Substantial experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, including UK NHS experience or equivalent.
- **Skills**: Proficiency in obstetric and gynaecological procedures, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to manage complex cases.
**Desirable**:
- **Fellowship Program**: Completion of a fellowship in a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynaecology.
- **Additional Training**: Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) or equivalent certification.
- **Research**: Involvement in research with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
