London, United Kingdom QA Apprenticeships Full time

**Who you’ll be working for**:
The Financial Reporting Council regulates auditors, accountants and actuaries and sets the UK’s Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes. We seek to promote transparency and integrity in business; our work is aimed at investors and others who rely on company accounts, audit, and high-quality risk management. As the Competent Authority for audit in the UK, the FRC sets auditing and ethical standards and monitors and enforces audit quality.

**What’s in it for you**:
The Financial Reporting Council is looking for an apprentice to support the FRC Research Manager with the management of the organisation’s research programme. You will work with internal FRC ‘client’ teams to ensure the research projects meet their objectives, with quality output produced on-time, and on-budget. Projects may, for example, gather evidence to assess regulatory performance, or deliver conceptual and evidential analysis to inform the development of FRC codes and standards.

You will have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities as you gain confidence, skills and knowledge. You will be supported with your studies in the workplace. The FRC has a specialist Project Management Office providing technical input and oversight of all FRC projects and a community of project management professionals that the apprentice will join.

As a Research Project Management Apprentice at FRC you will gain a wide range of skills and experiences. You will work towards the L6 BSc Honours degree in Project Management and once complete you can then be eligible to become a full member of Association for Project Management (APM), the Chartered Body for the Project Profession.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Working with internal “client” teams, across the organisation, to assist with research projects that support delivery of the FRC’s strategy and plan. As well as project management this could include carrying out background research on a range of business/economic issues to support research project design and delivery
- Maintaining project management documentation, reporting Key Performance Indicators
- Liaising closely with research contractors and FRC teams to monitor progress, maintaining technical rigour, and ensuring timely completion of research projects
- Providing secretariat support to the Research Steering Group of FRC senior leaders
- Working with the FRC’s Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs Team to assist with the planning/execution of dissemination of research findings through publications, seminars, webinars, and media coverage
- Assisting with the development of invitations to tender, conducting bid assessment, and working with the FRC Procurement Team to award contracts
- Completing other ad-hoc requests that are in line with your skills and capabilities

**You will need the following skills**:

- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with teams across the organisation and with external contractor teams appointed to deliver FRC research projects
- Able to communicate well both in writing and orally
- Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Good numerical and verbal reasoning abilities; attention to detail
- Understand the importance of dealing appropriately with sensitive information
- A broad interest in business and its regulation, and/or interest in the issues with which the FRC’s regulatory remit is concerned.
- Confident using IT packages including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

**Entry requirements**:

- 120 UCAS Tariff points from a combination of acceptable Level 3 qualifications which may include: A level or BTEC Diplomas/Extended Diplomas.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

**For more information please visit the UK ENIC website.**

**Working week**:
37.5 hours per week

**Future prospects**:
90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.

**Important information**:
QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education. To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
