Procurement Lead

Procurement Lead job based in Caerphilly for market leading manufacturer.
You will:
- Provide global and bespoke market insights to manage and reduce price fluctuations and drive a value for
- money baseline in all negotiation engagements.
- Develop and maintain procurement, risk and capacity strategies aligned to your commodity sets.
- Build, manage and run tenders to provide cyclic foundation for the value for money baseline and to drive
- market competitive procurement.
- Negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring that secures the best possible commercial terms (e.g. price, balance of risk, duration, payment, MOV, delivery).
- Provide inputs to the overarching procurement strategy and sub plans.
- Maintain records and build data sets to contribute to the budget process.
- Deliver business and functional Key performance indicators.
- Time manage, to deliver an agile, friendly service to all functions, underpinning the business strategy.
- Work cross functionally and within a matrix to leverage team efficiency.
- Provide in-depth, accurate analysis of tenders, cost, risk, capacity, capability, global and macro events.
- Continually research a global supply base to feed our sourcing pool and assess capabilities, capacity,
- Routinely re-evaluate existing critical suppliers and refresh all linked strategies and plans.
- Provide ongoing support to the Purchasing team and lead supplier relationship and performance
- management engagements.
- Present updates across your responsibility spectrum using various mediums to a wide stakeholder base
- ensuring the procurement message is clearly articulated.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
You will have experience of /be:
- Working within a demanding manufacturing environment for delivering Value for Money and cost reduction.
- In negotiation, highlighting persuasion and upselling skill, and the ability to influence at a senior level.
- Of understanding technical content, drawings, specifications, and statements of work.
- Of global sourcing and use of incoterms and harmonised customs codes.
- Of building commercial partnerships and/or strong strategic supplier relationships.
- Of creating and deploying strategy.
- In strategic contract management within a Procurement or supply chain related role.
- Of project management.
- Of logical problem-solving.
- Of making well-reasoned decisions whilst working at pace and with conflicting priorities.
- With the financial principles involved in sourcing, delivery, and execution.
- In understanding the market drivers that affect the business, using the best information available.
- In balancing customer and company requirements and of satisfying legal requirements.
- Of purchasing systems, processes, and technologies.
- In managing sizeable budgets and in producing meaningful forecasts.
- Of working independently, using your own initiative whilst supporting a wider functional group.
- Of using IT packages (Microsoft Excel or equivalent), handling large sets of data using advance formulae,
- pivot tables, charts etc.
This is a full time and permanent role paying between £40k to £45k, dependent on experience. There is a hybrid working policy plus suite of benefits:
- 25 days annual leave including Xmas closure period plus bank holidays, and Annual leave purchase scheme (up to 5 days extra) (Occasional)
