**Who are we looking for?**
UKAEA's payroll is processed by an external third-party provider. Within UKAEA, the payroll team are responsible for providing accurate pay change data to the third-party provider for processing each month.
We are looking for an experienced payroll advisor to join our busy payroll team for a 12-month period of maternity leave. You will need to have excellent attention to detail to make sure our colleagues are paid accurately each month and to have good communicationskills.
As Senior Payroll Advisor you will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of 4 Payroll Assistants, who are responsible for entering the monthly pay information into our payroll system and also responding to people-related process queries. You willneed a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and the ability to work to set deadlines. Our experienced Payroll Manager will work closely with you and the Payroll Assistants to ensure that our payroll is delivered accurately and to schedule.
**What will you be responsible for?**:
- Line management of the Payroll Assistants, supporting them to deliver their roles
- Delivery of excellent customer service to our colleagues
- Supporting the Payroll Manager to ensure that UKAEA's pay rules and arrangements are implemented appropriately
- Checking payroll data, prior to sending to UKAEA's third-party payroll provider, to identify and rectify errors before payroll deadlines
- Oversight and approval of pay related changes
- Download/provision of data from UKAEA's pay system as required for audits.
- Ensuring that pension data is provided accurately to UKAEA's pension provider
**Qualifications**
**Essential skills, experience and competence required**:
- CIPD/CIPP Level 3/5 or equivalent experience is essential
- Experience of using an ERP system to enter/manage pay-related information
- Experience in a Payroll and HR role is essential
- Ability to effectively manage and support a busy team
- Ability to work within tight deadlines, prioritising demands as required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills and system knowledge, especially Excel and the ability to manipulate and present data effectively
