If so, then this is the perfect role for you We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small and dedicated team, where you will have the opportunity to work on two grant schemes for the Department for Transport.

**Job description**:
The Government provides £20m through its mode shift freight grant schemes to support rail and water freight services on routes where they deliver environmental benefits over road haulage but are more expensive to operate.

The Department for Transport operates two freight revenue grant schemes to encourage modal shift from road to rail or water: Mode Shift Revenue Support for rail and inland waterways and Waterborne Freight Grant for coastal and short sea shipping.

**Person specification**:

- Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: _
- Monitoring and updating freight grant contracts following meetings with grant operators and the freight grants Allocation Group.
- Working closely with local Business Finance Partners to ensure grant payments, resolve payment issues, produce annual projections and monthly accrual.

**About you**

To be successful, you will need to be someone who:

- Has good numerical skills and experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Has good drafting and oral communication skills.
- Is comfortable taking on new responsibilities and working flexibly in response to new and changing business pressures.
- Is able to work quickly and under pressure while remaining calm and focused working as part of the wider team in support of the Department’s priorities and objectives.
- Enjoys working collaboratively with others and able to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.

**Additional information**

A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
