**The role**:

- Mersey Port Health Authority is looking to recruit two Port Health Officers on a permanent basis

**The main duties of the post include**:

- Monitoring and reviewing all imports of products of animal origin and food not of animal origin including documentary checks, inspection, and sampling of products
- Conducting verification of certificates of organic products at point of import
- Undertaking ship sanitation inspections of cruise ships, ferries, merchant vessels, small passenger vessels and pleasure crafts to ensure compliance with UK and international standards
- Providing liaison, advice and guidance on communicable disease control matters at the Port of Liverpool and Liverpool John Lennon Airport
