Position: Town Planning Manager

Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your professional planning capabilities and advance your career? We are in search of a Planning Manager to collaborate with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will partner with the Group Planning Director to manage a varied portfolio of planning-related tasks. You will work closely with Port Directors and the Property and Project Teams to drive the execution of strategic business objectives across Peel Ports Group. Your responsibilities will encompass all phases of the planning process for port-related projects, from initial discussions to the submission and successful approval of planning applications.

You will take the lead in preparing Port Master Plans and associated studies/assessments while fostering effective stakeholder engagement. Additionally, you will assist Port Directors with all regulatory planning aspects of their operations, overseeing and supporting the submission of permitted development projects. You will also spearhead the submission of written responses to national and local planning and policy consultations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience working with Local Planning Authorities and should hold (or be nearing completion of) a MRTPI qualification. You will have substantial experience in development management, along with expertise in the planning application and EIA processes. As an excellent communicator, you will be adept at presenting to both internal and external stakeholders and influencing decision-making.

Strong community and stakeholder management experience is essential, as is the ability to handle multiple development projects simultaneously. Given the nature of this role, occasional travel to other sites within the Group across the UK may be required.
