An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the People Team at Health Education and Improvement Wales providing maternity cover until 31 December 2024. The role of People Business Partner at HEIW is an opportunity to further your career in Workforce & OD in the NHS. HEIW is a unique organisation at the heart of NHS Wales with an all Wales remit. Working within the People Team offers a broader range of experience than a traditional HR business partner role. In addition to business partnering, there is the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the People Team, to be exposed to the wider Workforce and OD Department within HEIW and to gain knowledge of the wider role of HEIW.

HEIW has a smart modern office located in Nantgarw and all staff are able to work flexibly with a working pattern of 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. This hybrid working model is supported by excellent IT and the use of Microsoft 365 and Teams.

Alongside work commitments HEIW has an active community networks meeting on Teams channels that include Reader's Corner, arts & crafts and fitness, in addition there is access to a range of well-being resources and activities.

The People Business Partner provides comprehensive professional support to the Head/Deputy Head of People and Facilities Management and Senior People Business Partner in contributing to the enhancement of a high quality, responsive service to managers across Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). This will include providing first line support and advice to managers on casework including managing attendance, disciplinaries, grievances, performance issues and recruitment.

**Main Duties**:

- Act as the designated People Business Partner for specified areas providing effective advice and support in a timely and proactive manner to managers and other employees.
- Promote a positive and proactive approach to the People and OD strategy at HEIW acting as an advocate for an open, fair and transparent employment relations environment, working in partnership with trade union representatives, staff and managers to achieve this aim.
- Support the development and review of HEIW’s policies and procedures; undertake equality impact assessments; participate in job evaluation; devise and deliver training programmes for managers; and line manage the Assistant People Business Partner and People Administrator.

THIS POST IS MATERNITY COVER UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2024 AND IS OFFERED ON A FIXED TERM CONTRACT OR SECONDMENT BASIS.
