**Classroom Support are thrilled to be working with an incredible Secondary School (11-18 years) in Shoeburyness**

Classroom Support are currently searching for a promising Learning Support Assistant on behalf of an inspiring Secondary School in Shoeburyness, Southend-on-Sea. This Ofsted “Good” school is a mainstream Secondary School that has specialist staff who cater well for pupils with complex special educational needs (SEN) such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD and speech, language and social communication difficulties.

The school is looking to recruit experienced Learning Support Assistants who are capable and confident in supporting pupils with SEN and can cater for their needs and to provide educational, social and emotional support to enable them to access the same curriculum as their peers.

This is a long-term temporary to permanent position. If successful, you will start working on a temporary basis for 12-14 weeks with a long-term permanent position available for excellent performance.

Your working days will be Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm (term-time only).

You will be paid on a daily rate - £80-85 per day on a weekly basis (£400-425 per week).

To start in September 2023.

It is essential that you have previous experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and are confident in supporting children with ASD, PMLD or SEMH.
- **Must **have experience of working within a school in the past 2 years.
- **Must** have experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour, ASD, PMLD or SLD and be of a calm but firm nature.
- **Must** have or be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS - You will need both or be willing to pay £52.20 towards the running of a DBS you do not already have one and on the update service (£13 per year).
- Advantageous to have previous experience in the care sector.
- Advantageous to have previous teaching/tutoring/mentoring experience.
- Any school volunteering work experience relevant.
- Behaviour management skills advantageous.
- Any qualification in Health and Social care or Teaching and Learning in schools also advantageous.

**Salary**: £80.00-£85.00 per day
