Customs and Export Control Lead Expert

**Job Title: Customs and Export Control Lead Expert**
**Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme**
**Your Tasks and Responsibilities**:
The UK Customs and Export Control Lead will be working for our Supply Chain Department reporting directly to Germany and the Customs and Export Control Department.
- Responsible for customs compliance within Leoni UK, and takes ownership of all customs processes in the company
- Management of Customs Coordinator
- Complete checks, releases and archive import declarations and related service invoices
- Takes responsibility for Intrastat declarations in all EU countries where LEONI UK is registered for VAT reasons and coordinate data with tax department
- Support country organisation in regards to customs topics
- Simulates preferential origin calculations for value chain concepts
- Assist with the creation of new customs concepts for new plants/countries/delivery ways
- Train others to use the LEONI customs system, when required
- Assist during customs audits
**Your Profile**:
- Previous experience in Import/Export and customs and international trade management is essential
- In depth knowledge of customs procedures particularly within the EMEA region
- Understanding of preferential Rules of Origin and global Free Trade Agreements as well as Incoterms 2020 and Tariff Classification
- MS-Office - Essential
- Willing to work to and comply with deadlines
- Able to prioritise and organise workload efficiently
- Additional German and/or French - desirable
- Willing to travel within the UK and overseas
