Position Overview:
The Customs and Export Control Specialist will be an integral part of LEONI's Value Chain Management team, directly reporting to the Head of Customs and Export Control. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with customs regulations and managing all customs-related processes within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customs compliance for LEONI UK, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.
- Serve as the Export Control Coordinator for LEONI UK.
- Manage applications for refunds or supplementary payments of import duties.
- Conduct checks, releases, and maintain records of import declarations and associated service invoices.
- Take charge of Intrastat declarations for all EU countries where LEONI UK is VAT registered, coordinating with the tax department.
- Provide support to the country organization on customs-related matters.
- Perform simulations for preferential origin calculations related to value chain concepts.
- Identify, maintain, and apply for necessary customs authorizations.
- Assist in developing new customs strategies for new plants, countries, and delivery methods.
- Support the organization during customs audits.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in import/export operations and customs management.
- Comprehensive understanding of customs procedures, particularly within the EMEA region.
- Knowledge of preferential Rules of Origin, global Free Trade Agreements, Incoterms 2020, and Tariff Classification.
- Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Additional language skills in German and/or French are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel as required.
