Position Overview:
The Customs and Export Control Specialist will be an integral part of LEONI Value Chain Management, directly reporting to the Head of Customs and Export Control. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with customs regulations and managing export control processes within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customs compliance for LEONI UK, taking full ownership of all customs-related processes.
- Serve as the Export Control Coordinator for LEONI UK.
- Manage applications for refunds or supplementary payments of import duties.
- Conduct checks, releases, and archiving of import declarations and associated service invoices.
- Handle Intrastat declarations for all EU countries where LEONI UK is VAT registered, coordinating with the tax department.
- Provide support to the country organization on customs-related matters.
- Perform simulations for preferential origin calculations related to value chain concepts.
- Identify, maintain, and apply for necessary customs authorizations.
- Assist in developing new customs concepts for new plants, countries, and delivery methods.
- Support during customs audits.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience in import/export and customs management, particularly in international trade.
- Comprehensive knowledge of customs procedures, especially within the EMEA region.
- Familiarity with preferential Rules of Origin, global Free Trade Agreements, Incoterms 2020, and Tariff Classification.
- Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Additional language skills in German and/or French are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
