**The Opportunity**:

- Christina Miller Research Fellowships honour the outstanding achievements of _**_Dr Christina Cruickshank Miller _**_(29 August 1899 - 16 July 2001) - a University of Edinburgh researcher and one of the first five women, the first female chemist, and one of the first deaf scientists elected to the Royal Society of Edinburgh. _

The School has a strong culture of career development and mentoring, and fully supports the requirement for a sensible work-life balance. We foster a collegiate and supportive environment that values and encourages all of our staff and students.

The Christina Miller Research Fellow will be associated with an existing research group within the School, in order to benefit from existing technical support and infrastructure. They will also be paired with a mentor to provide support and advice, and connected to the appropriate UoE staff networks as applicable to ensure the fellow has an excellent peer support group

The Fellowship is funded by the School of Chemistry through the College of Science and Engineering and is for a term of three years (full-time). A consumables budget of £20,000 is also offered for the duration of the Fellowship. Requests for part-time working and/or flexible working patterns will be considered favourably and the duration of the Fellowship may be adjusted accordingly, on a pro rata basis.
