Applications are invited for a research assistant to work on the Co-SPACE project (COVID-19 Supporting Parents, Adolescents, and Children in Epidemics). This Westminster Foundation/UKRI funded project has been tracking children and young people’s mental health throughout the COVID-19 crisis through a monthly online survey, to identify what protects children and young people from deteriorating mental health over time, what support families need and how this may vary according to different contexts.

The post is full time and is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in Oxford.

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 May 2024 ).

You will work as part of a team to support preparation of research materials, assist in the preparation of co-design sessions with young people, gather, and analyse data, and contribute to the dissemination of findings to policy makers, media and the public.

You will have a first degree in Psychology or related discipline, together with some relevant experience. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. You will be able to manage your own research and administrative activities, have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings. You will also have experience of following and adapting methodologies, a good understanding of statistics, and of computing/ software.
