Director - Head of Office - Accountancy

A leading independent Firm of Chartered Accountants and Commercial Business Advisers, with offices across the Southwest of England are now recruiting for a Director to join them to head up their Glastonbury office. As members of the highly regarded network Prime Global, they have local knowledge with national and international reach.
The Purpose of the role is to manage a client portfolio, working closely with the Partner, accountable for client relationships and exercising appropriate risk management, driving growth by developing long term profitable relationships and portfolio development, coaching, leading and inspiring colleagues as well as to lead and manage specific project activities on an ad hoc basis.
You will report into one of the Partners of the business and be responsible for managing large portfolio of important clients, as well as being responsible for the management of a small team made up of a Client Portfolio Manager, a Business Services Manager and a couple of Associates.
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities of the role include**:
Knowledge Acquisition
- Develop new market/industry knowledge, skills, points of view in response to changing market requirements
- Consolidates leadership skills
- Continues to develop commercial and broader business advisory skills
People & Leadership

Business Development
- Leads business development activities and is responsible for building a market
- Builds a strong pipeline and successfully generates profitable work
- Introduces wider firm services to clients
- Continues to build and maintain an internal network and personal brand
- Leads wider cross service line and industry programmes
- Create and positively exploit networking opportunities and professional contacts to ensure the targeted fee growth is achieved.
- Use collaborative approaches to networking for firm-wide benefit and utilise contacts to gain referrals and cross referrals at an appropriate level.
- Encourage the whole team to take part in and see Business Development as a fundamental part of their role.
Client Service
- Leading large, technically complex clients, recognised as trust business advisor to senior client leaders
- Show real commitment to setting the firm and our teams aside as leading our field in client service.
- Working to enable us to become the trusted advisor, embedded in client affairs and the first port of call for any support and guidance required
- Accountable for the engagement quality and risk management
- Enables the team to generate innovative and progressive ideas to add value
- Meets team specific performance targets
- Builds and maintains “distinctive” client relationships
- Actively promote the expertise of non partner specialists to enable greater leverage and succession.
- Salary of between £65-75k, dependant on experience.
- Hours of work Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs per week (early finish on a Friday)
