Head of Strategic Workforce Planning

The aim of strategic workforce planning is the constant evaluation of workers and their performance, preventing the business from being surprised by the ever-shifting needs of its’ workforce.The position focuses on Strategic workforce planning mapping the organization's people strategy with the business strategy so they work in sync.

The role holder will be responsible for leading and providing expertise in the creation of a strategic workforce plan and headcount plan over a 1-5 years period, creating and leading the deployment of this strategy as well as the programmes and processes based upon the resourcing requirements. This will also involve overseeing the end to end recruitment process and process improvement working closely with HR and Business Leads. Key to this will be the ability to build relationships with the leadership teams in relation to all aspects of workforce and recruiting strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide thought-leadership in partnership with HR and business leaders to proactively identify the critical workforce requirements necessary to execute strategic business plans.
- Consider the long term goals of the organization establishing key skills and capabilities required to support the business strategy
- Management of skills and capabilities inventories detailing preferences, desire and identifying gaps business wide aligned with business strategy
- Develop and implement an overall strategic workforce planning roadmap which effectively aligns industry best practices with the current talent position and includes creation of a flexible resourcing model across the entity
- Lead and embed HR frameworks and tooling across the organization to support strategic workforce planning eg talent playbook, degreed
- Work closely with HRBP to facilitate workforce planning initiatives including, but not limited to, critical role/capability identification, environmental scanning, gap analysis, risk analysis, and action planning

Requirements
- Commercial acumen - Having a commercial mindset and understanding critical metrics which are deemed very important to track and evaluate the performance of a team, a business unit or an Organisation
- Customer centricity - Understanding customer needs and fostering a customer centric mind-set and promoting customer advocacy to drive business growth
- Data management - Review data through a set of processes for the purpose of arriving at an informed decision including people analytics to discover and interpret workforce-related data to improve performance.
- Leadership & Management - Build an inspiring vision, understanding the priorities and value that drive the need for delivery and removing obstacles or roadblocks; planning and preparing to ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively.
- Learner experience - Bringing together learning solutions from various sources to help create learning pathways that support individual and business needs. Working with various learning technologies, whilst being aware of latest industry trends such as gamification or mobile app building
- Organisation design and analysis - Supporting the design and changes to the formal structure of the organization, congruent with strategy and the remainder of the operating mode. Review and understand business performance, identify opportunities, and develop a plan of action for improving performance
- People development - Create a culture that values and respects individuals and provides them with opportunities to grow and develop
- Strategy design and execution - Ability to define the direction and allocate resources accordingly to support implementation of the plan
- Personal effectiveness - Understanding power dynamics in the network of stakeholders within ones sphere of influence and operate effectively in order to get things whilst leaving a positive personal impact. Anticipating a need and taking the initiative to act or control a situation rather than just responding to it after it has happened
