**Job summary**:
The Insolvency Service is offering a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an administrative officer. We offer full training, flexible working and are committed to continued learning and development to support our people.

The initial posting for these roles would be within our Official Receiver Services Directorate (‘ORS’) which is responsible for the investigation and administration of bankruptcies and compulsory liquidations. You would work in one of our Official Receivers’ local offices or function teams, to support the identification, protection and realisation of assets in bankruptcy and compulsory liquidation cases. You would also work closely with technical staff to support the work we do in identifying misconduct and criminality in the cases we deal with to provide protection to the wider economy.

Our function teams include:

- The Central Case Team (CCT) who are the initial point of contact for new insolvency cases, triaging the administration of cases.
- The Income Payments Agreement (IPA) Team who assess each bankrupt’s ability to make monthly contributions to their bankruptcy estate and manage these payment agreements.
- The Diverse Asset Realisation Team (DART), based in Cardiff, who deal with the realisation of assets such as shares, after acquired property and pensions.
- The Property Team, based in Ipswich, who deal with all of our property related work.

**Job description**:
Our Administration Officers (‘AO’) work within operational teams dealing with a range of bankruptcy & compulsory liquidation matters including:

- Working as part of an administration support team dealing with a range of administrative and casework matters
- Managing own work to prioritise and complete assigned tasks
- Dealing with members of the public and private sector firms (e.g. solicitors) by telephone, in writing and in person
- Issuing reports to creditors and routine correspondence
- Liaising with specialist staff on technical matters
- Dealing with the realisation of assets to enable returns to creditors
- Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders by telephone, in writing and in person
- Inputting and updating information on case management systems
- Reviewing and maintaining accurate case records to progress work in a timely manner
- Dealing with distribution of funds to creditors
- Providing general clerical support

**Person specification**:

- You will need to be flexible in approach and have the ability to multi-task, be positive and have a can-do attitude
- Through your ability to think ahead and your eye for detail you will ensure the accuracy of information
- You can work on your own initiative and meet deadlines, using your initiative to find solutions
- You will be able to make decisions, seeking guidance and support whenever appropriate
- You are a team player with the ability to build relationships, enabling you to act as a flexible colleague ensuring shared responsibilities are fulfilled

Desirable
- Relevant work experience e.g. 18 months administration work experience.

**Qualifications**:

- A GCSE (or equivalent qualification) at Grade 4/C or higher in English Language and Mathematics.
- A relevant apprenticeship qualification (or equivalent or higher level qualification, e.g. 3 A Levels)
