As our Visitor Experience Officer, you’ll be working across the properties as a champion of exceptional visitor experiences. From interpretation development to helping create our on-site events & activities, you’ll be right in the detail. This role is varied and a real opportunity to get your creative juices flowing and help to bring history to life for our visitors.

The role will involve working across the Hinton portfolio so you'll need to be willing and able to travel.

**This role is a full-time, 2 year fixed term contract.**

What it's like to work here:The Hinton Portfolio comprises of Hinton Ampner, Uppark House and Garden, Winchester City Mill and Ludshott & Selborne Commons. The portfolio is large and varied, covering the Western part of the South Downs National Park. In it we have 2 pay for entry sites with glorious mansions, priceless collections and stunning gardens; 1 city centre water mill which is free entry for everyone, still milling flour that we use in our café and sell to our visitors; and several pockets of beautiful countryside providing access to nature for everyone. No two days are the same in this portfolio. Not only will you be working at different places most days, but you will also be helping to ensure our programme of experiences and events are adapted and delivered to our diverse audiences at our different sites.

The role sits within the spirited Visitor Operations & Experiences Team which lead for the entire visitor journey, all the way from marketing through to the programme of events we offer whilst our visitors are on site and finally their feedback from the visitor survey. We regularly reflect using data and feedback to inform how we grow and learn to ensure we are continuously developing our offer.

What you'll be doing:This role will play a key part in the development of experiences from concept through to delivery. You’ll help deliver engaging and meaningful experiences that can teach, move and inspire our visitors. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters and meeting their needs is of great importance. Creativity is key from working on leaflets to children's activities, walking trails to signage - there is always something to get your teeth into.

You’ll join a high performing team and will regularly be involved in the duty management rota helping run the visitor operation. You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, ensure our spaces are always welcoming to visitors and bring your creative skills to the fore.
