This is a rare opportunity for a Nature Recovery focussed Area Ranger to join us in a fixed term role at Hinton Ampner as we deliver an ambitious programme of nature recovery across our 600 hectare South Downs National Park Landscape.

What it's like to work here:Our team are expanding for nature, to welcome people to be more involved in our work. You’ll report to our Countryside Manager, completing a team of five at Hinton Ampner all focussed on the delivery of our Reimagining a Hampshire Estate Project. Together we form a Countryside department with a small team of Rangers looking after our commons in North East Hampshire. We collaborate with property colleagues alongside specialists in Estates, Farming, Trees, Archaeology all helping us achieve our ambition.

What you'll be doing:As one of two Area Rangers at Hinton Ampner, you'll work to our standard role profile with each role focussed on varied and targeted outcomes. We have multiple objectives including woodland creation, regenerative farming and parkland restoration delivered by our Reimagining a Hampshire Estate project.
With a Nature Recovery focus you’ll work closely with colleagues to monitor delivery and compliance of our countryside stewardship outcomes within our project framework. You’ll oversee nature, habitat and historic knowledge across the project area, includes habitat condition, wildflower meadow and hedgerow management planning and wildlife monitoring.

Who we're looking forWe’d love you to have the following skills and experience:
- evidence of land, access and conservation management, including delivery of projects and supervision of contractors.
- experience of developing and delivering work programmes to meet conservation, access and project outcomes.
- ability to communicate at various levels, including colleagues, volunteers and visitors.
- strong leadership, effective organisation and prioritisation skills
- practical skills, competencies and experience across a range of countryside disciplines, including a full UK driving licence.
- good understanding of risk and compliance processes
