Safeguarding Lead with Ofsted and Apprenticeship Knowledge

The Safeguarding Lead will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all apprentices within our organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safeguarding policies and procedures, providing training and support to staff and apprentices, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, review, and implement safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding issues to staff and apprentices.
- Deliver safeguarding training and workshops to staff and apprentices.
- Monitor and report on safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Liaise with external agencies, such as local authorities and safeguarding boards, as necessary.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safeguarding standards.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices related to safeguarding and apprenticeships.
- Support the organization in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience in a safeguarding role, preferably within an educational or apprenticeship setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in developing and delivering safeguarding training.
- Strong understanding of the apprenticeship system and the specific safeguarding challenges it presents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding and child protection (e.g., Level 3 Safeguarding Certificate).
- DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required.
