Liverpool, United Kingdom Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are looking for a safeguarding practitioner who lives by our organisational values of Caring, Fair, and Innovative (and has a passion for safeguarding)

We are excited to be able to offer this unique opportunity to work within our axess Sexual Health safeguarding team.

We are looking for a compassionate practitioner, with a good understanding of safeguarding populations at risk of harm and multi-agency working, who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of practice.

You should have a good understanding of safeguarding and be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills.

The post will include the provision of specialist safeguarding advice, support and supervision on safeguarding matters to front line staff across the axess Sexual Health footprint. This includes our sites in Liverpool, Knowsley, East Cheshire, Warrington, Halton and Widnes.

The post will also include practice development and prevention of the wider harm’s agenda.

In return, we will offer you an insight to working within a specialist sexual health service and support you through clinical and safeguarding supervision and training, to support your personal and professional development.

The post holder will contribute in ensuring Liverpool Hospital NHS Foundation Trust meets its commissioning responsibilities for Safeguarding Children and Adults. This includes assurances that staff are aware of their responsibilities around the Safeguarding agenda and that the Trust has positive effective working relationships with partner and external agencies.

Working as part of axess Sexual Health safeguarding team the post holder will work with complex safeguarding issues and will require strong communication skills, confident in working with eternal agencies such as local authorities and the police.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
