Following internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity to join Liverpool Women's Hospital whole of life Safeguarding Service as a Safeguarding Practitioner. The successful candidate will provide support, advice and guidance across the full safeguarding agenda including adults, children and the unborn, Mental Capacity Act and domestic abuse.

The successful candidate will also provide safeguarding supervision and assist in the delivery of safeguarding adult and children level 3 training. Being an essential member of the team, the successful candidate will be supported by Named Professionals and Deputy Named Professionals.

Main duties of the job

As a Safeguarding Practitioner you will provide support, advice and guidance to a range of health professionals across the organisation. You will be responding to safeguarding concerns, providing consultations and work alongside colleagues and partner agencies to safeguard individuals from harm.

The role will encompass work across both safeguarding adults and children and we utilise a Think Family and Making Safeguarding Personal approach.

1. Reporting to the Named Professional, the post holder will support in promoting the safeguarding agenda for both adults and children.

2. To act as 1st point of contact for any safeguarding child or adult issue

3. To improve the availability of information to those who experience domestic abuse

4. Support front line staff to adopt a think family approach and consider the safeguarding needs of dependants when they are providing care.

5. To undertake risk assessment and reasonable adjustments to support staff provide appropriate care.

6. Contribute to strategic planning

Experience

Essential


  • Experience of multi-agency process and working.
  • Experience of managing safeguarding issues.
  • Evidence of continued professional development linked to demonstrate clinical competencies.
  • Experience of dealing with highly emotional and potentially conflicting situations.

Desirable


  • Awareness and understanding of equality and diversity.
  • Awareness and understanding of clinical governance.
  • Awareness of the wider health & Safety, clinical risk and quality agenda across health.
