As a Cardiac Theatre Assistant you will contribute as part of the Operating Theatre team helping to deliver and maintain high standards of patient care.

As part of your role you will be assisting the scrub practitioner and undertake duties under the direction of the practitioner in charge of theatre. These duties will include: collection and opening of instruments trays, packs etc, cleaning of the theatre between and after cases. Taking part in swab, needle and instrument counts, labelling, handling and dispatching of specimens and maintaining stock levels within theatres. The role is varied, diverse and situated in a busy environment so you will need to have be mental and physical stamina. If this describes you then come and join our Operating Theatre team as a Band 2 Theatre Assistant working in the Cardiac theatres at Llandough Hospital.

Working in our Cardiac operating theatres at Llandough Hospital you will be required to support Nurses, Doctors and technicians to look after patients during/after surgery. This role will be varied and you will work in the operating theatre itself. You will be required to carry out duties such as potering, moving patients, collecting and setting up equipment ensuring it is clean and in working order, stocking up shelves of items used during surgery, inputting information in the computer and cleaning the theatre in between operations and at the end of the day.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
