The Director of Sales will ensure that the customer is at the heart of what we do in a way that delivers our key performance metrics by understanding personalised customer needs and matching those to our products, propositions, services, and messaging. Responsibilities will include driving revenue, growth, customer service and profit performance through effective sales performance, and supporting British Gas growth through cross and up-sell of BG products and services.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and delivery of customer growth across Service & Solutions. Accountable for the planning, commercial analysis, and delivery of the S&S growth strategy, while optimising our products and propositions to grow our customer base, and customer value, across all channels including digital, field and contact centres. You will own a pipeline of commercial initiatives to improve customer growth, and act as a commercial business partner to stakeholders across the S&S organisation.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Accountable for the overall sales strategy, performance, and key deliverables across Service & Solutions
- Build a small team to develop and lead improvement, insight, and risk mitigation plans, whilst providing direction and support to develop capability of customer facing channels. Helping to optimise sales performance and manage the value of our S&S customer base by putting key tools in place that drive profitable business, in both revenue growth and customer engagement for new and existing customers
- Developing reporting and metrics to understand overall customer growth and value, with actionable insight and MI on performance, and building a forecast to underpin performance optimisation. Supporting key initiatives for proactive sales opportunities that drive in-year revenue target and forecasted growth
- Responsible for sales targets, and key financial metrics (Revenue, Conversion, Multiple Product Holding and NPS), along with the financial performance across all growth channels
- Responsibility for the delivery of performance standards, and adherence and execution of the appropriate controls, policies and procedures which should evidence the fair treatment of customers (TCF)
- Build a strong relationship with the customer facing teams, working together to optimise field and non-field, driving world class sales performance and customer interactions
- Own a pipeline of commercial initiatives to improve performance, actively proposing changes and introducing new activity through which to maximise commercial results whilst delivering correct customer outcomes
- Drive a data and insight approach to plan & optimise proposition offerings and performance
- Ensures we continually develop as a Sales organisation by seeking out best practice from the external and internal environment
- Be a representative for all Commercial sales activities including trading forums and member of the Customer Experience & Commercial Team.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- Understand the levers to drive value within a sales organisation, with an extensive knowledge of techniques to build sales capability in both a field and non-field sales environment
- Experience in directing sales performance
- Experience of operating within Financial Conduct Authority regulated environments, and effective delivery of both commercial and regulatory objectives
- Change management experience, particularly in changing commercial markets in order to develop new sales opportunity
- Experience of leading, motivating and developing a team / individuals
- Clear understanding of GDPR / data privacy and other marketing regulations and standards
