**Job summary**:
You will have years of public or private sector experience working in videography, graphic design, illustration, animation, and brand management - primarily for social media. To complement your practical experience, you will also have strong creative vision and confident leadership skills with experience of managing a team.

You will keep across trends and the changing way social media platforms treat different types of content. You will lead on quality assuring and maintaining consistency in our digital creative content development, have experience in overseeing the delivery of design work, ensuring it is channel appropriate, has the end users in mind, and meet our strategic priorities.

In this role, you will be a key player in influencing senior colleagues on best use of digital content, so we are looking for an expert practitioner with strong influencing skills. You will work collaboratively with other leaders in the team, whose staff focus on social media channel strategy, as well as the wider Communications Directorate including the Brand & Campaigns team. You will also work directly with senior stakeholders including Ministers, Special Advisers.

The roles will include domestic travel across the UK and some international travel. It also requires regular travel to our London office.

There will be some on call/duty requirements on a rota basis that you will be compensated for.

**Job description**:

- Having overall responsibility for delivery of top-quality creative content for multiple departmental and ALB channels
- Systematically evaluating the impact of creative content, using insights gained to continuously improve creative products which drive engagement with our audiences
- Managing and prioritising a pipeline of work and the daily workloads of the team, juggling the development of longer-term briefs with short notice requests
- Ensuring secure and effective management of resources, paid-for tools and equipment
- Promoting digital skills capability across the communications function by delivering learning and development opportunities
- Provide leadership to ensure the quality and smooth delivery of shoots and visits
- Encourage learning and development across the team and identify where specific training is needed
- Ensure the well-being of the team is a priority and promote a positive working culture
- Working with the wider social media team, you will understand how to respond rapidly to fast-moving events and provide senior cover in an out-of-hours duty rota

**Person specification**:

- A proven track record in creating a range of multimedia content for digital and offline channels, including video, photography, graphics, illustrations, and animation, with a creative portfolio to evidence work delivered
- Experience using Adobe suite, in particular InDesign, After Effects, Illustrator and Premiere Pro
- You may have more experience with some of these mediums and skills than others, but you will be comfortable leading a team of specialists
- Experience in project management, able to effectively manage resources and work well under pressure to deliver multiple competing projects on time
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the confidence to provide best practice advice to senior officials and ministers
- The ability to make strategic decisions by having strong analytical skills, using data and content performance to improve communications approaches
- Experience leading teams to perform at their best, developing their skills and helping them to grow and innovate
- Ability to travel on location and provide support and direction to Secretary of State and ministers on shoots
