**Job summary**:
We are looking for exceptional staff to join the UK public inquiry into the Covid-19 pandemic, to learn lessons and better protect the people of the UK. From being announced in 2021 to full public hearings, which have just commenced, the Inquiry continues to move at pace and make national news. The pandemic affected everyone in different ways. In order to hear from those who suffered hardship and loss, and scrutinise both the decision making and impact, there is a significant amount of work to be undertaken.

We are sponsored by the Cabinet Office, however the Inquiry sits independently from the Government.

**Job description**:
The Deputy Head of Creative and Integrated Communications will be working within the Communications and Engagement team, leading a specialist unit focussed on brand, creative production and ensuring an integrated approach to communications for Every Story Matters. Every Story Matters is an opportunity for adults across the UK to share their experience of the pandemic directly with the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, to help us to shape recommendations for the future.

This is a new position and one that is suitable for an ambitious and talented creative and integrated communications professional looking to join us as we deliver one of the most anticipated public inquiries in history. You will oversee the production of creative materials, including:

- Internal and external facing materials for the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, including: reports, corporate information, and creative assets (animation, video, static) to help our audiences to understand the Inquiry's purpose, scope and progress.
- End-to-end production of impact films. These emotive and high-profile videos are screened at key points during the Inquiry's hearings to ensure that proceedings are set in the context of the lived experience of those who suffered hardship and loss during the pandemic.
- Creative assets to support our public-facing campaign to promote Every Story Matters.

You will also cover the Inquiry's strategic communication planning remit, ensuring we maximise key moments across channels. You will galvanise colleagues across the team to ensure activity is planned, integrated and robustly evaluated.

The Deputy Head of Creative and Integrated Communications will be comfortable line managing creative specialists and able to motivate, inspire and champion the team's expertise. You will oversee 3 x SEOs that are established within the Inquiry, including: Senior Video Producer, Creative and Graphic Designer, and a Publications and Accessibility Manager. You will also line manage and recruit 1 x SEO to oversee communications planning and evaluation.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Lead the team’s work programme - manage resources, take ownership to prioritise, deliver at pace and manage expectations.
- Champion and enforce brand excellence and high standards of accessibility for the UK Covid-19 Inquiry and ESM, maintaining consistency and quality across different projects.
- Provide expert consultancy on how/when creative products can effectively meet communication objectives, identifying risks, solutions and demonstrating both pragmatism and commercial awareness to ensure best use of time and public money.
- Have strategic oversight for all Every Story Matters external communication, working across teams to ensure key moments are maximised, activity is integrated, supported by quality assets and robustly evaluated.
- Prioritise learning and development during your time on the Inquiry and use your experience to up-skill colleagues in the Inquiry.
