Job Purpose:
In support of the Head of Vehicle Integration, Chief Engineer(s) and Head of Attributes and Performance, lead the management and delivery of vehicle integration activities on vehicle programme(s).

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage Vehicle Integration activities, supporting delivery of allocated programme(s) through gateways and technical checkpoints
- Ensure that programme vehicle targets are achieved and manage target setting and status evaluation activities
- Drive attribute-related vehicle simulation and virtual engineering through virtual series phases to realise achievement of these targets
- Support the system selection process and ensure the technology selected meets vehicle integration and attribute needs
- Chair geometry readiness reviews through virtual series and determine readiness for freeze events, approve hardpoints and ensure releases meet vehicle integration and attribute requirements
- Chair data judgement reviews as required for final release of long-lead commodities to ensure technical readiness
- Lead cross-functional issue resolution including design, architecture, attribute, build and fleet issues
- Provide management guidance to the Vehicle Integration Team meetings and Technical Forums to ensure timely decisions are agreed for cross-functional vehicle engineering issues across the programme(s)
- Support the team to deliver the required prototype vehicle builds, vehicle specification and bridging part definition, ensuring the vehicles are the correct pedigree for the required development activities
- Support management and planning of vehicle DVP activities, manage overall prototype vehicle plan, parts and spares to ensure efficient DVP completion
- Together with the engineering teams, manage and report the overall commodity DVP status to achieve the target timing and quality
- Support the containment sign-off process against commodity requirements and approve any commodity deviations
- Support cost reduction activities including validation against whole-vehicle requirements as required
- Lead improvements to the Vehicle Integration team function and/or process
- Line manage and support the professional development of Vehicle Integration Leaders, Coordinators and Graduate Engineers within Vehicle Integration

Qualification & Experience:

- Previous whole vehicle engineering, development or testing knowledge
- Experience of complex systems integration management
- Proven track record of delivering robust and sound engineering solutions
- Knowledge of engineering issue investigations and problem solving
- Experience of leading cross functional teams effectively to deliver viable engineering solutions
- Line management (or resource management) experience would be an advantage
- Knowledge of CAD / Teamcenter would be useful
- Familiarity with or experience of other high performance / luxury vehicles and OEMs would be useful
- Previous vehicle attribute assessment experience would be useful
- The role is initially for ICE programme(s) however future high voltage programme involvement is likely, so prior experience of engineering PHEVs/BEVs would also be useful
- Technical experience / background
- Engineering Degree
