**WHAT TO EXPECT**

The automotive industry is transitioning through a pivotal stage with significant changes as we move towards a future connected, electrified and autonomous world. This throws open a whole host of design opportunities and challenges in the world of car design, of which the Human Factors team play a crucial role. We ensure that the customers’ needs are at the centre of every one of these designs and engineering decisions, working from early concept development through to production release of brand-new Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. We focus on key customer use cases and develop design and engineering requirements and standards to ensure that our products meet customer expectations for a whole range of areas, from interior and exterior practicality and usability, occupant comfort, ease of ingress - egress and exterior vision to HMI development, driver distraction analysis and glare and reflections. No part of the vehicle goes untouched by our team, and we have a hugely influential input into the design of our future products.

As we transition into the new world of automobiles, we need engaged and driven Human Factors specialists who are passionate about ensuring our customers’ needs are centric to the development of our new products. We look to ensure that not only do our vehicles look incredible but have the capabilities of Humans embedded into all aspects.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR**

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that Jaguar Land Rover vehicles meet the Human Factors requirements for Exterior Vision, Driver Position and Accommodation and Practicality.

This includes:
- Assist with the development, cascade and ownership of Human Factors requirements relating to Ergonomics.
- Support the analysis of Quality data (JDPower) relating to Ergonomic related customer feedback.
- Collaboration with colleagues around the business to resolve issues relating to Ergonomics.
- Assist with the Human Factors input into the development of new vehicles, ensuring Human Factors requirements are met.
- Support the develop, cascade and ownership of Human Factors requirements for Ergonomics, including updates as appropriate.
- Support the analysis of quality data relating to Ergonomics and use it to support requirement development and issue resolution.
- Assist with the Human Factors input into the development of the Ergonomics attribute, ensuring Human Factors requirements are met.
- Support the timely completion of Human Factors assessments (such as placement, reach, vision, clearance)
- Completion of requirement testing, and report writing
- Support the resolution of issues with stakeholders.

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED**

**Essential**:

- Knowledge of ergonomics, human factors and user interface design.
- A basic understanding of the scientific theories and principles that relate to user interface design.
- Ability to communicate concepts and issues clearly.
- Ability to analyse data.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.

**Desirable**:

- Microsoft package elements Project, Power Point and Excel.
- Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., Catia v6.)
- Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering knowledge and cross functional experience
