As an organisation, they house some of the best talent in the industry and with a new leadership team and strategic expansion plans, an opportunity has arisen for a HV Battery Design Engineer to join them and take ownership of the specification, design andintegration of high voltage battery pack and systems for hybrid and electric vehicles. **Does this sound like the type of company that can offer you an exciting next step of your career?**

The key responsibilities for your new role as HV Battery Design Engineer are as follows:

- 3D concept design generation of HV battery pack and HV systems hardware.
- Generating system specification and responsibility for the delivery of hardware.
- Creation of detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of HV battery pack and systems hardware.
- Package integration of HV battery pack and HV systems.
- Tolerances studies.
- Definition of HV battery pack and systems BOM, driven by CAD structure.
- Chairing FMEA meetings, ensuring development team alignment on DVP and test activities.
- Liaising with interfacing system owners and package teams, ensuring compatibility.
- Working closely with component suppliers ensuring cost, mass and functional optimisation.
- Supporting procurement team during supplier nomination process.
- Managing and maintaining HV battery pack and systems CAD assembly, within the whole programme buck.
- Troubleshooting and concerning resolution during build and test phases.
- Working closely with the development team to ensure functional performance and durability achieves targets.
- Working closely with simulation team to ensure good model correlation.
- Liaising with internal manufacturing teams.
- Releasing for prototype procurement and product launch.
- Tracking and management of all system costs.
- Training, coaching, presenting technical information and sharing knowledge.
- Developing and recording best practises and supporting development of design manuals to handle the powertrain electrification requirements of today and the future.

My client is keen to find someone with a background in the design and development of HV battery pack and systems hardware for hybrid and/or electric vehicles. In addition, you will also have a solid understanding of simulation techniques, test methods andvolume manufacturing processes, such as casting, machining, fabrication etc.

Regardless of previous expertise, you will possess the ability to analyse and validate supplier data and work across functional teams to deliver viable design solutions.
