If you are working or have worked in travel/accommodation booking, student services, international student services, language school, guardianship company, university accommodation, hotel room bookings, travel services, customer service then you may have transferrable skills and we would be interested in hearing from you. Mandarin Chinese speaking and writing skills are desirable.
Study Links is a thriving family business based in West Yorkshire, in the North of England. We act as educational Guardians and first point of contact for international students studying in the UK. By working alongside parents and educational establishments we help young people achieve their full potential by expertly bridging the gap between cultures, languages, and education systems. We aim to accommodate our students with caring, native-speaking, host families near to their place of study to broaden their Great British experience.
**Scope and Remit**
As a member of the Operations team, the post holder will be confident in seeking, nurturing and developing new business relationships to increase sales. You will use your excellent customer service skills to build rapport and relationships in a warm and friendly manner and have an ability to discuss all aspects of the business to ensure customers are happy at all opportunities. The Post Holder will be accountable for processing Guardianship enquiries and registrations in a timely manner. Recruiting and retaining homestays in line with the Accommodation strategy. Arranging appropriate homestay for our students, ensuring all their needs are met and that there is a smooth transition. You will be the supplier management for transport companies, holding them to account for their delivery. The post holder will coordinate the group study tours. Provide support to guardianship and non-guardianship students and their parents. Liaise with schools, agents, parents and students to resolve any problems with their time in the UK. Provide essential administrative duties around keeping students Covid safe and able to return to their home countries. The post holder will provide operational support across the whole business as required. Working alongside the Study Links team, you will provide daily telephone and administrative support, be able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team as required.
**Role Duties**
- **Ensuring the safeguarding of our students**:
- **Processing of Guardianship enquiries and registrations in a timely manner**:
- **Recruitment and retention of homestay families in line with the Accommodation strategy**:
- **Ensure homestay and transport compliance with British Council and AEGIS criteria**:
- **Arrange online revisits and Support Representative visits**:
- **To provide homestay families with appropriate guidance, support and training regarding hosting international students**:
- **Book students with appropriate Homestay families to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing welcome for students.**:
- **Source best value transport providers**:
- **Book transport for students**:
- **Build relationships with homestay, transport, educational establishments and agents to improve retention and customer satisfaction**:
- **Manage and resolve Travel and Accommodation complaints**:
- **Manage group information collation and cascade to necessary parties**:
- **Manage and coordinate the group study tours**:
- **Provide accurate billing**:
- **Provide operational administrative support across the whole business as required**:
- **To operate the 24-hour emergency phone line at regular agreed times on a rota basis, to ensure student safety and provide support “out of hours” - for both student and homestays in emergencies**:

**Knowledge, training and experience required**
- **You must have excellent communication skills**:
- **Knowledge of the UK Education system and British culture.**:
- **Provide support to students and their parents on UK cultural expectations**:
- **Possess the ability to build rapport with clients on the telephone.**:
- **Proven administration and IT skills and experience.**:
- **Confident in dealing with confrontational issues.**:
- **A degree in a relevant field is also desirable.**:
- **Driving licence and your own transport.**
**Desirable but not essential**:
- **A knowledge of the guardianship and homestay markets**:
- **Experience with Chinese culture**:
- **Reads, Writes and speaks Mandarin and or Cantonese**
