Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) has a new opening within their Culture, Leadership and Succession Team. Based within the Workforce & Organisational Development (OD) Directorate, the Culture, Leadership and Succession team is responsible for delivering an ambitious agenda that includes:

- Leading and embedding the Compassionate Leadership Strategy and Principles for the NHS in Wales
- Re-establishing the NHS Wales Graduate Management Development Programme
- Developing and delivering a suite of executive and clinical leadership programmes
- Creating and supporting vibrant communities of compassionate leaders
- Developing a talent management pipeline for the most senior leadership roles
- Developing, managing and promoting a bi-lingual digital leadership portal

Gwella is the Leadership Portal managed by the HEIW Culture, Leadership and Succession team with the goal of providing users with an accessible, intuitive system that allows them to access a range of compassionate leadership resources with ease.

Gwella has become a critical and enabling component of our leadership strategy. To date, an extensive range of compassionate leadership networks and resources have been established, including national networks managed by HEIW as well as local networks created and managed by NHS Wales organisations.
