**About The Role**

Founded in 1889, Forest Green Rovers is a football club with a rich 133-year history - but we're at the forefront of something entirely new here. FIFA described us as the greenest football club in the world - it's undoubtedly true that no other football club in the world has put the environment at the heart of what it does.

We aim to be in the Championship within the next five years - our recent promotion to League One is the second step of that journey - and we're planning to build a stadium to match those ambitions. Designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, 'Eco Park' will be the only stadium made entirely of wood - another world first.

It's an exciting time to join as CEO of the ‘world’s greenest football club’ - we’re competing in League One for the first time in our history, attract a global audience to our brand on a weekly basis, and have innovated in so many areasmost notably, of course, sustainability.

**Role Purpose/Objectives**

The CEO will report to the Chairman and Owner to deliver the Club’s strategic objectives

The CEO will lead and manage the organisation with a sense of direction and purpose that delivers the Club’s vision and mission

The leadership and management style of the CEO is one that inspires, empowers and supports staff to deliver exceptional Club performance - including a great match day experience and maximising business development/commercial activities

**Main Roles & Responsibilities**
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Club
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities and deliver successful commercial outcomes
- Develop and deliver an exceptional match-day event experience: including ticketing, facilities, hospitality, retail and food
- Deliver exceptional customer experience outside of matchday
- Deliver clear communication aligning with the Club’s values and mission across all platforms including digital/social media channels whilst continuing to develop the Club’s brand globally
- Budget responsibility for the non-football part of the Club
- Liaise with the Head of Recruitment/Board on the football budget to enable appropriate reporting of the overall budget
- Work closely with the football staff and leadership including Board, Head of Recruitment, Head Coach and Academy Manager to understand needs and provide resources and an environment for them and the teams to compete at the highest level - including first class support in arranging contracts, logistics, travel, facilities, catering etc.
- Lead, develop and inspire staff and volunteers to successfully deliver the Club’s objectives
- Continually develop and reinforce an entrepreneurial and high performance culture across the organisation
- Attend EFL meetings and represent the Club’s views, lobbying in its best interests and in accordance with its values and mission
- Demonstrate leadership with the community to further the Club’s interests/mission and engage with the fans

**About You**

Experience of Strategic Leadership and driving Operational excellence in an organisation is key - specifically in the areas of event management, staff management, business development and commercial growth (both B2B and in retail inc. merchandising).

Excellent stakeholder engagement, management and communication skills, with experience of effective and authentic engagement with a wide range of people.

This is a diverse role which would very much suit an inspirational hands-on leader.

Adept at motivating and leading others to deliver results.
