**Overview**:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Assistant at our lively village pub. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about food and hospitality and wants to gain valuable experience in a bustling kitchen environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the kitchen team to ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and sanitizing equipment.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, checking for accuracy and freshness, and rotating stock as needed.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in good working order, reporting any issues or maintenance requirements to the kitchen manager.
- Support the chefs during service by replenishing supplies, garnishing dishes, and assisting with plating and presentation.
- Dispose of kitchen waste in accordance with recycling and waste management procedures.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, including proper handling and storage of food products.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
- Assist with other duties as required, including kitchen cleanup and organisation.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a pub, restaurant, or similar establishment.
- Basic food hygiene knowledge and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction from the kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
